Avantgarde supports and opens doors for young Qatari students, who are soon to be the influencing parts of the country’s creative industry.
With youth being the future for an evolving country like Qatar, their education is a vibrant topic. Avantgarde Qatar decided to jump at that chance and give internship opportunities to Qatari students studying at the Virginia Commonwealth University of Qatar. The School of the Arts gives young adults the opportunity to learn and evolve in their favorite topics. Therefore, Avantgarde started a competition in collaboration with the school.
A group of female students received the opportunity to work in teams on a design project for the Qatar Pavilion at the upcoming Expo in Kazakhstan. The girls presented their first concept ideas to Mohammed Seed Al Blouchi, Acting Director of the Qatari Pavilion at the last Expo in Malian, Dr. Cherif Amor, Head of Interior Design at VCU, and Markus Hofmeister, General Manager of our Doha office. The most creative and innovative idea wins an internship at the Avantgarde headquarters in Munich/Germany. The final work will be presented in an exhibition in December on the VCU campus.
It is a wonderful opportunity for all and we as Avantgarde are proud to be a part of it. The students can experience how versatile our company is by travelling to Europe and experiencing design strategies on another level. On the other hand, it is a great opportunity for Avantgarde to have some young spirits full of new and fresh ideas.
