Amazon’s (Physical) Bookstore

After venturing into the world of brick-and-mortar before Amazon has opened Amazon Books in Seattle on November 2, 2015 – and sells books the old-fashioned way.

Amazon has revolutionized the retail industry for the better part of the past 20 years. It’s gradually dawning on the online behemoth that in order to create an emotional connection with consumers you need to create a brand experience that moves beyond the confinements of the internet.

The store’s page on amazon.com says: “We’ve … build a store that integrates the benefits of offline and online book shopping. The books in our store are selected based on Amazon.com customer ratings, pre-orders, sales, popularity on Goodreads, and our curators’ assessments. These are fantastic books! Most have been rated 4 stars or above, and many are award winners.”
